What the checker looks at
The rules are the ones the cabinet applies when you upload a creative: the type is taken from the file’s bytes, not from its name, so a PNG renamed to .jpg is still a PNG. Files over 2 MB and images larger than 5000 px on a side are refused.
Display zones on the network use fixed sizes. A banner that matches a size exactly is shown pixel-perfect; one with the same proportions is scaled, which is fine for photos but softens small text. Export at the exact size — and at 2× for sharp text on high-density screens, as long as the file stays within the weight limit.
Keep it light
Weight is not only a limit: a heavy banner loads later, and a late banner is seen less. Photos compress well as JPG or WebP; flat graphics and logos as PNG. See running campaigns for moderation and landing-page rules.
Questions about this tool
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by your browser and never sent to a server — you can even run the check offline once the page has loaded.
Does passing the check mean the creative will be approved?
It means the file itself is acceptable. Every creative and landing page is still reviewed by moderators for content and policy before it serves.
Where do the ad sizes come from?
From the list of display formats active on the network right now — the same list advertisers choose from in the cabinet.
